A heavily modified work of art inspired by NASA The case carries a greyish industrial hue, with deep engraved sections across the bezel that emphasize its mechanical character.
Across the top, detailed engraving reads “FLIGHT_UNIT / 22 – FLATHEAD.”
On the underside, a small question is engraved:
“RETURN TO EARTH?”
Number 22.
This case carries a long history of modification. It originally began as Case No. 9, where a laser engraving accident damaged the bezel midway through the process. The case was later refurbished and painstakingly sanded for over eight hours to remove the earlier mistakes. Despite the effort, faint markings still remain.
Interestingly, those markings were originally hand-drawn desert dunes, capturing the natural flow of wind across sand. Their subtle traces still live within the metal.
After being set aside for some time, the case eventually found new life. I wanted to create something personal—something sci-fi, something that truly resonates with me.
So I redesigned it.
This piece was originally made for myself. But as much as I would love to keep it on display, it is part of a limited run of 100 pieces.
The case isn’t perfect.
but neither am I.
